Our Story
“Whatever our souls are made of,
his and mine are the same”
– Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights
Victoria Madison Hartline (future Pardue) was born and raised in the small town of Lake Wales, Florida. She grew up riding horses, singing and reading anything whimsical or romantic. She would go on to compete in barrel racing, winning the blue ribbon in her first competition and later the state of Florida Youth Division. Her musical endeavors, after teaching herself guitar, led her to performing her own original songs at many venues across the Sunshine State. Always a dreamer, her life was becoming her own ever-evolving novel, while waiting to meet the one person with whom she would continue the story.
Kevin Eugene Pardue was born in Sunrise, Florida but spent most of his life in North Carolina. Much of his childhood was spent outside, creating grand adventures and developing an affinity for the medieval or anything that could be seen as a quest. Pursuing this elusive quest would take him from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Outer Banks, from the rolling hills of Tiger Town to the Queen City. Eventually, he found himself outside a lone grove in central Florida, Gary’s Grove, where he would meet the princess he unknowingly sought.
Be it fate, coincidence, or something greater, Madison and Kevin’s paths crossed on that fateful night, as the stars aligned in the small town of Winter Haven, where his parents, as well as hers, met a lifetime ago. They spent the night discussing everything from favorite authors and directors, to life stories and their many passions. Kevin would later confess, he knew within hours of their
meeting that she was the one person he was meant to spend his life with.
The two years that followed was the prologue to their own grand romance novel that would eventually peak on the night of Madison’s 30th Birthday Celebration, when he asked her a simple yet powerful question with close family and beloved friends as witnesses. In that moment, they agreed that one day they would swear to spend the rest of their lives together, to create a home and a family and build the most beautiful of lives to experience as one. Such an oath would be sworn before family, friends and God in the most magical of locations, with feasts and music, dancing late into the night as ale flows and celebrations abound with those closest to the betrothed in the gardens of the grand Chateau of The Biltmore Estate in the foothills of the Appalachian.
Their prologue concludes and the next chapter begins on April 18, 2026.
